Understanding Certificates of Analysis

6 min read

A certificate of analysis (COA) is a documentation record associated with a specific batch of a listed research material. It summarises the analytical information supplied for that batch.

Typical fields include the product name, batch and lot numbers, testing laboratory, analysis method, test date and any documented identity or purity result.

A published COA confirms that a report has been uploaded and associated with a listed batch. It should not be interpreted as regulatory approval or as a claim about suitability for any application beyond laboratory research.
